It is time for back to school and I can’t believe it is here already! This time of year always has me excited for a fresh start with a new class and the excitement of another year of memories with my students. While this year will be different with remote learning and some of us in a hybrid model of school, back to school shopping might look a little different for teachers and students. Therefore, today I wanted to share some of favorite items from Walmart that will not only inspire teachers and kids but ultimately help us all feel ready and prepared for whatever type of learning comes our way.

This post was created in partnership with Walmart. All opinions are my own.

Since we are all in a unique situation this year, I love finding school supplies that can work for in the classroom and at home. Walmart makes it so easy with their home delivery and affordable prices that you can throw in a couple extras to make your home the best learning environment possible. They also have a whole Back to School Shelf where you can find for every grade level class essentials.

Must have’s for students this year would be dry erase boards and markers. Students need to be able to show learning in an easy way. I love the idea of a mini whiteboard where they can show their work. The paddle white boards are also perfect to raise up and show student work.

Markers, highlighters, and pens are also in my opinion the best when they can be found in pretty pastel colors. I know I love writing more when I have a fun writing utensil. Just be sure to have an organized spot for all of them with a simple container. Anchor chart paper is also perfect for creating posters of important concepts throughout the year and letting students record work.

Finally, do not forget post-its. They are such a great reading comprehension tool where kids can record their thoughts and questions as they read a book. They are also helpful for ongoing notes and to stay organized.

My other favorite thing about back to school shopping is of course fall wardrobe shopping. While my district may have us in the classroom and at home teaching, I know I want my wardrobe to have enough easy staples that can work in either situation. Walmart Fashion makes this so easy with their affordable prices and they are one of my new favorite finds for bohemian styles that I love.

Puffy Sleeve bohemian blouses will be perfect for wearing for Zoom calls with your favorite casual jeans. They can also be paired with midi and maxi skirts year round. They are so comfortable and flattering while teaching. I love this one!

Cardigans in all colors are a cute way to layer over any outfit. I always stock up on so many of these and I love this one. A casual blazer or a suede fringe jacket is also adorable to pair with jeans or a skirt.

Finally, a pretty boho dress is my favorite way to dress up. I love pairing them with booties and it is the easiest outfit to decide on in the morning. It can also be worn year round and transition outside of work as well!

What are your top items for back to school shopping this year?
