I’ve always loved belting out the lyrics, ” NO..SLEEP..TIL BROOKLYN!” but didn’t really get the coolness of Brooklyn until staying over the other weekend. I was able to stay at the cutest airbnb with a friend and really get a local feel of some of the best restaurants and shops in the area. I had so many rec’s before arriving that to be fair I will make a list of everything that caught my eye. Beware you’ll want to stop by everywhere.
Where I stayed:
Let’s call this section, cutest Airbnb ever. Actually you can find it by searching, “Gorgeous new apartment with amazing views” when search Brooklyn on Airbnb. Nick is the owner and his wife is the master decorator of this new apartment. Think: white countertops, neutral decor, and boho vibes. The house was fully stocked with everything you could possibly use to cook a gourmet meal and the bathroom fully stocked with natural products that smelled heavenly. I feel at this point I also have to speak about the heated floors of the bathroom, which I didn’t realize until then that yes, heated bathroom floors are necessary. The location is about a 30 minute subway ride from NY Penn Station and the apartment is just a 5 minute walk from the Lorimer subway stop, so if you are not driving into Brooklyn, there are a few convenient ways to get there. But warning, once you have arrived, you may not want to leave. But that’s not really a problem when there are spo many amazing restaurants, coffee shops, and bars all in walking distance around you.
Where I went:
Sunday in Brooklyn: Be prepared it is always busy but it is the BEST brunch. Such a cute spot too.
St. Anselm– omg the steak. You need to get it when you are there and it also does not hurt that it has the coziest vibes.
Sweet Chick– I did not think I could get good chicken and waffles in the North. Boy was I wrong. Obsessed and maybe the best I’ve had.
Post Office– Whiskey bar with the easiest, laid back vibes.
Emmy Squared– Thick crust pepperoni goodness. Also, it delivers.
Skinny Dennis– Drinks and live country music. You’ll swear you are in Nashville
L Train Vintage– Spot where I scored the cutest vintage sweatshirts and the Levi midi skirt I am in love with.
Places on my list for the next trip, in no particular order:
Lilia– Italian food
Milk & Rose– Lunch
La Gamin– Brunch
Paulie Gee’s – Pizza
Delaware and Hudson– This place just looks so good.
Xixa – Mexican
St. Mazie– New Orleans vibes, live music
The Four Horsemen– Wine bar. Yes.
Llama Inn– Looks like a boutique hotel
Fette Sau– Best BBQ (across from St. Anselm)
Maison Premiere– Fancy cocktails/ Raw bar
Marlow + Sons– Killer date night location.
OTB– Cocktails and horse racing vibes.
